But there are several choices available. While choice is wonderful, it can also be confusing! Bradley? Hypnobabies? Independent classes? Which would work best for you?? Come get an idea of what each method is all about! At this meeting we will have several childbirth education teachers speak about the method they teach, the philosophy behind it, and what the pros/cons are. We will also hopefully have some moms who have used the various methods to share their experience with the methods they used! We're really excited about the upcoming ICAN conference in St. Louis, so excited in fact that we're offering a $99 scholarship which covers (early bird) registration. We'll be drawing the winner on Tuesday, February 1st from those interested. The only requirements are that you have attended an ICAN of Chattanooga chapter meeting OR are a subscriber through the Chattanooga chapter (so locals only, please) and that you are committed to coming if you're chosen. If you don't meet the chapter criteria but would like to be included please let us know why you should be included (e.g. you just found out about ICAN of Chattanooga a few months ago but recently had a baby and haven't been able to attend yet) and we'll take it into consideration. General info about meetings and kids: We haven't really made any hard and fast rules about kids coming to meetings. It's your call. We only ask that you consider whether your child would be disruptive or not. Of course, little nursing babes are welcome! Also keep in mind that sometimes our topics are sensitive and/or somewhat adult. Some women may need to share a personal and painful experience. If children are able to entertain themselves quietly, it shouldnt' be a problem. We just ask for that consideration for the purpose of the meeting.
